She'd what? Couldn't, well, y'know-- but June would do something. "Just get out here and stop hiding! Please? I'll give you five bucks!"

A record total ten minutes, and they'd found absolutely zero clue on where the two more important people in her life were. Or the rest of the missing losers, but who cared about them? That one Kyle guy was probably deader than a doornail, and she couldn't give two shits about most of the other people on the ever-growing list.

And odds were good that if she found Annalise or Grigori, then she'd also find the rest of them. Thus, she focused on them. They'd respond to her calls better than anyone else. Eris Halla ? Probably not. Yuina Higashi ? Barely knew each other. howard slayte ?

Hopefully he was the only dead one. World would be a better place. She punched a tree on her left just at the thought of him. Then her nerves caught up to her brain and she clutched her fist tight to her chest.

"Hey, you see anyone?" The delivery-girl looked to the stranger. It was someone she'd likely seen in an ad, or online somewhere, but hell if she remembered her name. It was super close in her mind, but the words couldn't come out. All that spawned from her hard thinking was it being comedically obvious. Something about music terminology itself.

"Let me know if you see a blonde girl, shorter hair, or a little longer-- or a really tall guy in a suit, Chorus."

Did...Did she not know who Melody was? It had been a long time since she felt something like that before but apparently she was able to discern with looks alone melody was musically inclined. She looked down at her sygnasuit that she had on and then kind of shrugged, guess it was obvious. [break][break]

Twenty-eight? Something like that. Fuck. June rolled her eyes and pressed on into the brush, “I don’t care about this Fernando guy, but Grigori… trust me, you’ll know him when you see him. Annalise is the head ranger of Mauville. Blonde, tallish, blue eyes. Just mention something about Rocket Defectors, and if it’s her she’ll start bitching.”

For better or worse. Right now, it was better. The easier it was to identify her, the less they had to worry about it being an imposter. Or clone. She stepped over a fallen log and held up a low-hanging branch. Nothing but Caterpie and Blipbugs as far as the eye could see.

“C’mon, chop chop! You ain’t out here to get inspiration for another track… what’s your name? I’m June.”

It might help if she gets any sort of connection with her partner-- easier to ignore the small voice in her head that begged for her to strangle the popstar.

June glanced down at the offered hand. Then, back to Melody’s eyes. Then back down to the hand. The angel and devil on her shoulder both commanded her to ignore the hand in different yet distinctly unique ways. However, now wasn’t the time. She needed the help. Thus, she took the hand and shook it.

The quickest handshake known to man, over in the blink of an eye.

“Melody. The name is… familiar. Sure,” she grumbled. No clue who that was. Who cared about the champions? Nothing but PR talents hired off the street for their good looks and ability to trounce a couple of gym leaders. If they were so capable, why was Rocket still around?

“And thanks– that’s the anxiety talking,” she followed up. Her back was already turned towards Melody as she quickly pushed forward. No time to waste, and no fucks to give. They made for a perfect combo of blunt, quick comments. “Something something, we’re a search group looking for missing people.”

“Not, y’know, talking about our accomplishments– unless that involves finding the missing people,” she said. “That’d be a pretty cool one to share. You see anything on your end?”

She took it back, this girl sucked. [break][break]

She sends out her hatterene "Search her out hatty." she orders as Hatterene closes her eyes and puts her hair antenna out as she tries to survey the land for any spikes in emotions. [break][break]

After a few moments she opens her eyes and points in a random direction "That way, she seems to be a bit farther away than we though but she's sensing some emotions in that direction." as she allows June to take the lead.

Finally, Melody did something useful. Only took her… long enough.

“Why didn’t you lead off with this? C’mon,” June immediately bolted for the direction indicated, unable to even wait for the other girl to catch up. If she couldn’t, then tough luck. Branches snapped underneath and cut through her hair as she desperately raced towards something unknown.

What if Annalise was badly injured? Or Grigori? That couldn’t be the case. The two weren’t the type for a seemingly random hike in the woods. Let alone a whole mob. Oh, the people responsible better not be there. Otherwise, June was gonna–

“What the…” she muttered. She’d finally reached the top of a small hill and peered over the top. Hatterene were keen on nearby emotional states. Dangerously so– June should’ve been dead to rights from Melody’s.

Yet they couldn’t really detect what they came from. That’s why June groaned and looked back at the other pair, “Congrats. We’ve found a nest of pissed off Durants.”

Sure enough, the metal insects stomped through leaves and grass angrily. A few dead brethren, and a couple Heatmor, lie around the scene. Looked like they found the aftermath of a failed hunt. “Damn it.”

Melody put her hands on her hips as they happened upon the dead group of pokemon. She looks to hatterene "You didn't think to check if the emotions were human or not?!" she says as her hatterene simply looks at her and shrugs with it's arm hair tail thing. [break][break]

She whistles "Those are some angry pokemon. Hatterene." she orders as the pokemon immediately erects a PROTECT to shield them as some of the durant rushed towards Melody and June. The heatmor then start to join in against the fight because they thought melody was going to jump in on their meal.

"You can help if you want, I got this otherwise." she says as suddenly Melody starts to mega evolve. "Rapunzel, Max smite." she orders as suddenly stars start to descend from the air above and barrage all of the pokemon, inflicting them with confusion.

Not only were they tasked with finding the missing people, but now they had to settle a turf-slash-hunt dispute. Great. Perfect, even. Just wonderful. Melody proved to be a little more useful as she blocked the first wave of the assault with a Protect.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh– “Faster we deal with them, faster we can go back to the search.”

Thus, June sent out Matchstick. The fiery hawk screeched ferociously, and quickly dive-bombed directly into the fray. It’s Flare Blitz scorched the Durants to smithereens, while the Heatmor were left relatively unscathed.

Just perfect. Great. “Where do you think they’ve gone?”

She didn’t mean the Durants, nothing more than scorch marks against the dirt and grass. "Think they're actually out here?"

She looks at June a bit disgusted "Knew I should've just put them all to sleep instead. That was unnecessary" she says sarcastically. [break][break]

She sighs, she didn't like her after all. "I have a different idea."she says as Melody walks out of the cave and starts to think about what to do next. She decides to issue a warning "June. I'll be honest with you, I don't like you anymore." she states clearly as melody starts to wonder what annalise henderson would think about what Melody was about to do. [break][break]

"Those pokemon didn't deserve to die. You didn't even give it a second thought to knock them out. I can't work with someone who does that so easily. So I'll find her myself without your help." as Melody walks off she sends out another pokemon, Meloetta. [break][break]

"If you ever snuff out an innocent pokemon's life in front of me again for no reason. You can trust me the only home you'll have left is team rocket."[break][break]

"understood?" As meloetta flies up into the sky and starts to sing, if she couldn't find her way to annalise she'd lead annalise to her.
